Hello! I'm Paddy Lynch, a cartoonist, illustrator and graphic designer from Dublin, Ireland.

I like to make drawings and images that tell stories and communicate ideas.

Books and comics I have illustrated include: Big Jim (with Rory McConville 2013, the O'Brien Press), My Last Day at 17 (with Doug DuBois, 2015, Aperture Foundation) and my comics series Last Bus (Cardboard Press). I run the monthly Dublin Comic Jam, and publish other folks' zines and comics under the Cardboard Press imprint.

Let's work together!

Big Jim Preview 1

Big Jim preview 01

I promised last week that I would begin to share some previews of my work in progress from a rather large project (for me, anyway) I have been working on for the last few months. So here it is, some inked, but unlettered, artwork from the start of the tentatively titled Big Jim graphic novel. I have to give thanks to my publishers for allowing me to preview this work in progress. Undoubtably some of these pages will be altered and revised significantly before seeing print, so it’ll be interesting to compare these previews with the final printed versions next year.

Oh, that really is looking very good Paddy.

Lucid sense of time and place, Paddy. And I’ve no doubt your grasp of panel-to-panel storytelling will better represent the medium than have previous Irish historical graphic novels. Really looking forward to this one.

Gar, John, I really appreciate the kind words. A lot of credit will also have to go to Rory McConville who has put together a great script and who understands how the medium works. We’re both working hard to make this as good a comic as we can.

Thanks a million Maeve, can’t wait to get back to it and get a load more done. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve had any time to work on it.
