New work up on the illustration site today. I did two covers for the leCool Dublin newsletter which went out over the last two weeks as well as accompanying interviews and pics. The most recent one can be seen above. Thanks to Ciaran for the nice questions. leCool is a deadly listings newsletter operating from several cities worldwide. Dublin has had it's own leCool for about 6 months now.  Also a portrait of Cliff Burton, the former Metallica bassist who's anniversary was last month, went up on drop-d at the end of September. Loads happening here regarding comics, but not much I can mention 'til I get the details confirmed. Don't forget Irish 24 Hour Comics Day is happening this Saturday and Sunday in the Central Hotel, Dublin. Cliodhna has plenty planned as can be seen from the revamped site. Should be a good buzz alright.  More illustrations below the cut.

I'm coming to  the end of posts based around August's flurry of illustration bits and bobs. Above is a shot of a spread from a zine called Festival put together by Alan Wall in time for this years Electric Picnic. In the words of the man himself: "Our goal was to attempt to put our finger on the excitement and fun of festival-going, try to answer the question of why it’s so enjoyable and why we return year after year" . I was lucky enough to be able contribute the illustrations  for the "Festival Law of Averages" story seen above. I was really happy with how it came out. Reckon it might make a great screenprint… hmm… It's a excellent project with some witty personal writing, top notch design (in fact it looks so slick that when my copy came through the letterbox I assumed I had inadvertently subscribed to some new glossy music magazine) and an exclusive six page story from Irish comics maestro Philip Barrett. It's limited to 50 copies of the physical object but you can read the full thing online here. Alan has a few copies left over if you wish to purchase it and hopefully he might curate a similar project in the near future. Loads more pics of the zine from Alans flickr account can be seen here. And a larger details of the illustrations are beneath the cut.
